Liz and I arrive in Dallas
Oh dear - what a day!
Up at 2am, leave Sheffield at 3am, arrive Gatwick 6am, 20mins to check bags and pass security, leaving us with only 4 hours to kill before take off!! Whiled away the time with retail therapy, caffeine and more than a healthy interest in the skin-melting hand-dryers. Caught up with Carl O'Keefe in Starbucks, the plane half full of Educause attendees.
Hotel is fine (despite no bar) next door but one tothe actual grassy knoll of JFK assasination. Big college football local derby on tonight so town full of party people. Liz and I have eaten Texas style
including giant onion rings with special homemade, hot
bbq sauce (in the corona bottle).
Tried really hard to stay awake late but flagging as it approaches 8pm - then again we have been up 24 hours now (and have only had 2 hrs sleep each in last 48 hours) - gonna get some sleep and re-group ready for tommorow.

What the heck is a derby? There's no such thing in America!
