Google race - game over
Thanks to everyone for playing google race - it has been fascinating to watch - a kind of virtual "lord of the flies" or should that be "lord of the moomins". Anyway the experiment was pretty successful and has given me a better understanding of rules and control for the seeds of the information literacy alternate reality game I have been pondering since ELI in January.
So we had 5 correct answers and the following names were entered into the prize draw; Abbi, Helen, Abbi, Juliun, Anne and following the draw, the winner is.....

ah, I know what you are thinking, how do you know that the draw was done properly, well in the spirit of the game, it seemed only fitting to get my alternate reality gaming inspiration, the king of Web2.0 himself,
Bryan Alexander (yes, Andrew, the real-life Bryan Alexander) to draw
the winner, with Ruben Puentedura looking on as independent invigilator. So that was pretty cool, Bryan also introduced us to one of the creators of pachyderm, we got an invite to the New Media Consortia conference, did a quick tour of social bookmarking, penntags and rtf v rdf, a little bit too much information about "flat dad" and "my twin", a replay (with voices) of a 1960s US sitcoms about "The President's Shrink", his take on our 5'3"plus JFK assassination theory, conspiracy theories in general and the history of the confederation - just a standard everyday conversation with Bryan Alexander. And all that in 20 minutes :-)
And the winner is......drum roll, drum roll......
the lone star prize will be presented at an appropriate time early next week.
btw please feel free to keep playing if you want to but if you were really only in it for the promise of great riches.....

I would like to thank my parents for supporting me through this, my teachers at school for inspiring me to make something better of myself, my colleagues for their un-wavering competitive spirit which drove me to etc ...
